If you only need occasional bits
of Hebrew placed into your documents, without vowels; or if you
have Windows 95, 98 or ME, then you need to get the Classic Kabbalah-Fonts
for Windows.
But if you need higher-end features
like email support, Internet support, full right-to-left Hebrew
paragraphs or diacritical marks, and you are
running Windows 2000 or better, you should get the Unicode
Kabbalah-Fonts for Windows. It will work natively with Microsoft
Office. If you are using another word processor like WordPerfect,
the Hebrew will still work right-to-left but the cursor position
might be wrong and the diacriticals might not work - a little
irritating but, in general, still better than the Classic fonts
for more than a few words at a time.
Other advantages of using Unicode
Kabbalah-Fonts and setting up your Windows and MS Office with
native Hebrew support:
Copy and paste standard Hebrew website
text into your word processor! >
Send and receive Hebrew email!
Sort Access databases or Excel spreadsheets
by Hebrew sort order!

If your system does not support
Windows 2000, then buy the Classic fonts. Each Classic
Windows Hebrew font comes with a free right-to-left utility
that lets you type in a line at a time from right-to-left and
then paste that line into your favorite word processor!
The R2L utility in the Classic
fonts may ask for a file named VBRUN300.DLL,
which can be found here. Install it
in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.
The Macintosh OS/X 10.2 and above) supports Unicode as well.
Microsoft Office 2004 for the Mac does not do a great job with
Hebrew yet; but you can do native right-to-left on the Mac using
TextPad and a couple of commercial word processors. Email us if
you are interested in purchasing a Mac Unicode font now or if
you have questions about Hebrew support in various Mac word
processors.
The Classic Mac fonts need to be typed in left-to-right and
there is no support for nikudot.
